Burnetta K. "Betty" Parkhurst, 89, a resident of Scriba passed away on November 14 at the Seneca Hill Manor.

Born in New Haven, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Georgia (Sweet) Woolson and was a graduate of the Oswego High School.

She was employed with Taggert for six years and later retired from the Auxiliary Service at the State University at Oswego after twenty five years of service.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling.

Surviving are her children,Ricky (Gayle) Sheffield of Georgetown, Tennessee, Bonita ( Mark) Reynolds of New Haven, Jeff Sheffield of Scriba, five grandchildren, Randy (Carolyn) Sheffield of Deer Park, Texas, Megan (Paul) Colloca of Scriba, Leanna (Joshua) Cleveland of Mexico, Eric (Joe Messerschmidt) Reynolds of Syracuse, Jilayne (Jason) Parkhurst-Thomas of Toledo, Ohio,
four great grandchildren, Tristin Sheffield of Deer Park, Texas, Caleb and Gracie Colloca both of Scriba, Madison Thomas of Toledo, Ohio and many nieces, nephews and cousins across the country
Betty was predeceased by her husbands, Lester Sheffield in 1985 and Malcolm Parkhurst in 2007.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 25 at 12:00 noon from the United Baptist Church of Scriba.

There are no calling hours.

Spring burial will be in North Scriba Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Baptist Church of Scriba, 5111 State Route 104 E, Oswego N.Y. 13126.

Arrangements are in care of the Dowdle Funeral Home.
