Carolyn Gilmour Quartier, 95, of Oswego, passed away on June 12, 2025, with her family by her side.
Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Shoemaker) Butler.
Carolyn worked at Sealright, Matchmaker, and Campbellās, but primarily she was a loving homemaker, wife, and mom. She loved summer family vacations in Saratoga and going to the track with her husband. She loved to dance and was a member of the Syracuse Cotillion. She also enjoyed tap, ballroom, and square dancing. Carolyn loved motorcycling and even participated in the Freedom Ride. She was an extensive traveler who enjoyed seeing all parts of the world. She was also an amazing cook and baker. Carolyn was a life member of the Eastern Star.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Mary Sanders and Sandra Blunt, and her son James Gilmour (Kathy). She also leaves behind six grandchildren Brian Sanders (Alexa), Samantha Weber, Kristina LaPage (George), Matthew Blunt (Heather), Gabriel Gilmour (Deborah), and Seth Gilmour, and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother George Butler, first husband James Gilmour, and second husband John Quartier.
A graveside service will be held in Riverside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
