Cast in rehearsal for `On Borrowed Time`

Oswego Players director Richard Mosher and his cast are busy with rehearsals for the next to last show of the Players' 75th season.

It has been a great time with all the members working toward a common goal of continuing to bring quality community theatre to our very faithful audiences.
Two actors in "On Borrowed Time" have worked hard toward that goal – Troy Pepper (rhe Sheriff) and Beverly Murtha (Demetria).
Pepper jumped right in after his Christmas show, "It's a Wonderful Life," with the directorship of the first show in February, "Dial M for Murder," a classic thriller written by Frederick Knott. He said he loves the classics as evidenced by his choices over the years of such fine old gems like "Arsenic and Old Lace," "Hound of the Baskervilles" and "Blithe Spirit."
Beverly Murtha has been active with both the Players and the Oswego Children's Theater. Her first major role back in 2009 was as the frazzled, confused lead in "The Lady Who Cried Fox." Since then, she has proven both willing and able to succeed with any role she wishes to tackle. Murtha's depth and range continue to grow and she has become adept in both female leads and character parts.
In addition to having a family and full-time job, she still manages to contribute time and effort to the Oswego County Humane Society by rescuing and fostering cats and kittens, many of which have been cruelly abandoned by their human owners.
Other cast members are Anne Raynor, Joni Anderson, Wayne Mosher, Peter Mahan, Matthew Oldenburg, Charlie Stoutenger, Jim Oldenburg, Michael Moss, Kyle Walton, Jonathan C. Altman, Zach Dumott and Tippy (Betty the Dog).
This sensitive drama will open at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15 in the Frances Marion Brown Theatre in the Oswego Arts Center at Fort Ontario. Performances will continue at 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16 and the following weekend, Nov. 22 and 23 at 8 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Nov. 24.
Tickets are $10/adults, $8/seniors and $7/students. Reservations are recommended, and can be made at the Players' Box Office at 315-343-5138.
