Born to beloved parents, Vincent & Margaret DiCecio in Oswego, NY, Kay was a proud, lifelong Oswegonian growing up and raising her family on the West Side, blocks from her parents and four sisters.
She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and the school where she, generations of her family and her children attended.
She was passionate about her children and home and was well known for her fashion sense and walking almost everywhere she went.
She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother to her three daughters and four grandchildren, Cathy Pontante (Dr. Brenda Wrigley) of Saugus, MA, Mary Ann Brown (Stephen) of Cicero, NY and children, Ryan & Carina Lawless and Teresa McSweeney of Myrtle Beach, SC and children, Devin & Shana McSweeney. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Mary (late George) Olin and Ann Cahill (William) both of Oswego and many adored nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sisters, Alice (late Lyle) Searles and Margaret (late William) Ruggio.
A Memorial/Celebration of Life Mass will be held in her honor on Saturday, May 25th at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 407 South Main Street, North Syracuse. Please wear bright colors instead of black – a big party with lots of laughter and no tears would have been her wish.
