"Ceili" (say: KAY-lee) is a Gaelic (Irish) word that means "party," specifically one with live musicians, dancing and general merriment.
There’ll be all that and more at the Oswego Music Hall when the 5-member band, Ceili Rain, storms the stage on Saturday, March 16. Dancers from Kinlough Academy of Irish Dance will perform at 7:00 prior to the show at 7:30 pm. The venue is the McCrobie Civic Center, 41 Lake Street in Oswego.
Ceili Rain makes an innovative blend of pop-rock music with a flamboyant Celtic/Irish flavor. Led by Bob Halligan Jr, who writes all the music and lyrics, this talented and experienced group includes Kevin de Souza, Joe Davoli, Burt Mitchell and Bill Bleistine.
Syracuse native, Bob Halligan Jr, has written over 140 songs recorded by well-known rock artists, including Cher, Michael Bolton, KISS, Kathy Mattea, Bob Carlisle, Rebecca St. James, Jump 5, Maire Brennan and countless others.
When Ceili Rain is not writing and recording new music or traveling around the country giving concerts they are fundraising for Mercy Corps. Find more information online at: Ceili Rain Band.
“These guys have an appeal that knows no boundaries. Ceili Rain music makes your feet want to dance and your soul soar!” ~Deborah Evans Price, Billboard Magazine.
