The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County invites community members to celebrate National Trails Day by volunteering at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
While the official National Trails Day falls on the first Saturday of June, this event provides an opportunity for local residents to contribute the following weekend to the care and upkeep of this treasured natural space.
Participants will join Extension staff for a rewarding morning focused on improving and preserving the center’s trail system. Volunteer tasks will include spreading wood chips, raking pine needles, planting saplings, and trimming tree branches. Tools and wheelbarrows will be available, though volunteers are welcome to bring their own equipment if preferred.
Complimentary refreshments will be provided to all volunteers. Registration is requested to help organizers plan accordingly and ensure ample refreshments for participants. Find registration and more information on this program and others at http://thatscooperativeextension.org/events or register directly at https://reg.cce.cornell.edu/NTD25_235.
