Saturday, June 3, 2022 is the 31st annual American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day®, which is all about exploring local or state trail systems, giving back to trails, and building a world where everyone has the ability to enjoy the outdoors.

On June 3rd at 5:30p.m., join the celebration at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center and learn how to leave no trace when enjoying public, national, or state recreation areas. Starting in the Paul and Theresa Schoeck Education Building, the environmental educator and Leave No Trace Trainer will go over the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace and how anyone can play a role in keeping recreation trails pristine for generations to come. Then the group will head outside for an evening hike through the trails demonstrating the Seven Principles in different scenarios. Overall, this will be an educational and fun event for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts!

This program is designed for nature lovers of all ages; anyone from individuals to families are encouraged to attend! All youth must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. The fee for this program is only $4 per person, or $12 for a family. Children under the age of three are free! Preregistration is requested.
