Investigator Dumas began his career with the department on June 27, 2005. Over the course of two decades, he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and community through his professionalism and dedication to duty.
Throughout his career, Investigator Dumas took on several vital roles. In 2009, he became a certified General Topics Instructor and an Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC) Instructor, sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of law enforcement professionals. He was appointed as the department's Evidence Custodian in 2016 and later became a Field Training Officer in 2020, mentoring new officers. In 2023, Dumas was promoted to the rank of Investigator, where he continued to serve the City of Fulton with excellence.
“Investigator Dumas exemplified the values of service and commitment,” said Chief Michael Curtis. “His mentorship, steady demeanor and willingness to help others is appreciated by this department and the community we serve.”
Deputy Chief Christian Dempsey added, “Brian’s influence extended well beyond the badge. His involvement in charitable events and his devotion to the community will be remembered and respected for years to come.”
As the department issued his final radio call, it was with both pride and gratitude that we said farewell.
