The proposal by Step One Creative to engage in the first phase of the comprehensive marketing strategy in redesigning the Port City’s website, which is being facilitated under the leadership of Mayor Barlow, was unanimously approved by the Common Council.
The enhanced website is anticipated to be completed and rolled out by April 2016. The website will become the platform in launching the comprehensive marketing and branding campaign for the City in moving forward, and will be an important tool to attract and retain residents, businesses, and visitors to the City of Oswego. This will provide the opportunity to begin promoting the City as a destination place that is on an upswing.
Mayor William J. Barlow, Jr. said that “In the 21st century, your internet presence is as important as anything else. I fully anticipate on working personally with Step One Creative to develop and construct this website, and I am confident it will be a website that all Oswegonians can be proud of. I am pleased to get this done so early on in my term and look forward to using this website as a tool to attract residents and tourists alike.”
“We greatly appreciate the partnership with the City of Oswego and new administration on this exciting new website initiative for our residents, businesses, visitors, and others looking to obtain information specific to our community,” Shane Stepien, President of Step One Creative said. “As an Oswego-based advertising and PR firm, we look forward to providing the same strong level of commitment and service that we have built our reputation on for the past 20 years with all of our clients. It’s exciting to see this project as a priority and complement to an overall branding and marketing program being considered by Mayor Barlow, and one that will showcase the many assets, natural resources and potential that exists within the City of Oswego."
Community Development Director Justin Rudgick said "The City of Oswego has a lot of potential and is beginning the process of a comprehensive transformation under the leadership of Mayor Barlow into a dynamic community that will attract and retain residents, businesses, and visitors to the Port City. Mayor Barlow recognizes that the City hds a lot of untapped potential and the City needs to effectively promote the City into leveraging the current assets into potential opportunities to create transformational changes for the City of Oswego in moving forward.
