The public is invited to attend the City of Oswego's Inaugural Day Ceremony on Friday, January 1, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in the Common Council Chamber at City Hall.

The ceremony will take approximately 20-25 minutes and will include the Oath of Office being administered to the members of the Common Council, City Court Judge, and the Mayor by The Honorable James W. McCarthy, NYS Supreme Court Justice.

William "Billy" Barlow will be sworn in as the City of Oswego's next mayor. Barlow will be the youngest mayor in Oswego's history and the youngest elected city mayor in New York State.

Barlow stated "I am honored by the trust that Oswego's hard working taxpayers have placed in me. I look forward to working with the City Council in a bi-partisan fashion to get results. As Mayor, I will be working with my colleagues in government, labor, and business to address the challenges our City faces. I will continue to prioritize the needs of taxpayers, while focusing on the quality of life issues our neighborhoods face. Working together, we can move Oswego forward and create a better, stronger City that's government is focused on meeting the needs of residents."

Light refreshments will be served in the rotunda area outside the Council Chamber immediately following the ceremony.

For any questions, please contact the Mayor's Office at 342.8136 or 342.8140.
