WEEKLY SCHEDULED PICK-UP of CONTAINED YARD WASTE AND DEBRIS is as follows:

MONDAY: South of Utica St., West side of city

TUESDAY: Between Bridge St. & Utica St., & College area, West side of city

WEDNESDAY: North of Bridge St., West side of city

THURSDAY: South of Utica St., East side of city

FRIDAY: North of Utica St., East side of city

THIS IS FOR RESIDENTIAL CONTAINED YARD WASTE AND DEBRIS ONLY.

• Leaves
• Grass clippings
• Garden weeding, flowers, etc.

For these items we recommend:

• Biodegradable bags
• Reusable containers such as a 5-gallon pail or similar.
• Place your container by the edge of the street by 7am of your scheduled pick-up day.
• Please DO NOT PLACE YOUR CONTAINER IN THE STREET. This is a hazard.
• We will not pick up containers with:
  
  • Papers, garbage
  • animal waste
  • stumps, roots, rocks or dirt
  • branches or clippings larger than your thumb
    
    • these items should be placed in a separate pile as “brush” (see below)
• Note: holidays will affect this schedule.
  
  • Have your container for your regularly scheduled day that week.
  • Holiday disruptions in the schedule rarely last more than one week.

UNCONTAINED yard waste and debris will not be picked up in a timely manner.

BRUSH/TREE LIMB PICK-UP

• IS NOT ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE
  • It is done on a rotating citywide basis, starting at one end of the city, and working to the other end, then starting over again.
• To help us be most efficient it is very important that brush/tree limbs be kept separate from yard waste and debris.
• All brush and limbs should be neatly stacked near the street with the butt ends facing the same direction.
• Please DO NOT PLACE YOUR BRUSH/TREE LIMBS IN THE STREET. This is a hazard.
• Stumps, roots, rocks and dirt will not be picked up.

LARGE OR NEIGHBORHOOD YARD CLEAN-UP PROJECTS

• You may request a yard waste dumpster delivered at or near your property.
  
  • Call the Department of Public Works to make the request during the business hours of 7:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday, at (315) 342-8180.
  • Our staff will work with you in placing a dumpster at or as close as possible to your property.
  • Yard waste dumpsters can only be placed in the street and not on private property.
  • Fill the dumpster with yard waste or brush/limbs as described above.
  • Schedule a pickup date/time.

DROP OFF YOUR YARD WASTE, BRUSH OR TREE LIMBS

• You may drop off your items as describes above to the Department of Public Works yard waste dump area, East of the DPW at 114 Mitchell St.
  
  • Monday Thru Friday 7:30am to 2:45pm
  • Saturdays from 9am to noon.
  • Private contractors are prohibited from using this area.
