Two 300 games in a week is a tremendous accomplishment, but Oswego High School bowler Matt Clemons reached the three century mark twice in the past five days.
Last Saturday, he bowled 300 in his regular league, but Wednesday he returned to high school action and started out with a 205, moved to a 237 and finished with a 300 for a sizzling 742 series.
"Matt is averaging over 230 this season in the CNYCL high school league action," coach Bob Hoefer said. "Over the past few years Matt has become one of the premier youth bowlers in Central New York."
Against Central Square, the Bucs captured three points with wins of 1,022-886, 1,102-881 and 1,194-885.
"The boys worked well as a team as all five scored over 600 as the team moved to 20-4 on the season," Hoefer said.
Joe Clavelli had a consistent effort with a 674 (228-212-234), Kevin Goodale 663 (226-213-224), Jim Rose 627 (203-206-218) and Zach Delbrocco a 612 (160-234-218).
Non-scoring players included Gavin Gilbert 599 (184-202-213), Mike Woolworth 511 (203), Dylan Kimball 480, Ethan Simmons 423 and Brandon Grant with a two game total of 210.
The girls' picked up two points with a game opening win of 698-620 and a 742-638 win before falling 655-626.
Balance was the key for the Lady Bucs as Tori Gardner had a 441 (175-161-105) and Meghan Flack a 440 (164-160-116) while Kaitlyn Grant had a 428 (145-136-147). Allie Hare finished with a 389 (113-126-150) and Caitlyn McRae a 368 (101-159-108).
Alaina Gaultz was a non-scoring player with a 329 while Aubrey Sanderson had a 326.
The Lady Bucs moved to 11-13 on the season.
