Color Schedule for "Hearts on the Bridge" This Final Week

The “Hearts on the Bridge” were purple Tuesday night and will be different colors throughout this last week of February.

As many of you know, the hearts started out red at the beginning of the month, went to a tracing red, then after a few days, went to full color-changing mode followed by a moving red and white for Valentine's Day weekend and have been all colors together for the past few days.

This week, as the colors of the hearts change, they will represent a different cause or organization. As Ellen Clark, Concierge with Experience Oswego and the one responsible for having the hearts on the bridge, was thinking about this being the last week they will be up, she considered the fact that there is so much more that the hearts can do that people had not seen yet. She coupled that with the idea of matching the colors up with a cause or organization. After she came up with the ways to showcase the hearts, she added to the idea an opportunity for people to donate to the causes and organizations.

Ellen's hope is that the public, from little kids pulling on the side of their parents' pants saying “Let's go see what color the hearts are tonight!” to seniors asking their caretakers or adult children to bring then to the bridge to see the hearts, will enjoy the different colors throughout the week. Her hope also is that some will take the opportunity to give to one or more of the causes or organizations represented.

This weekend will be filled in with special requests through Experience Oswego for the color of the hearts. If you have a request for a color this weekend or would like to hear more about what the hearts can do, call Ellen with Experience Oswego at 315-704-8900.
