Concinnity, the select women’s group, will be performing in concert, Visions of Hope 2.0: Unity, at 3:00 on Sunday, June 8th at Faith United Church.
The building is fully accessible and is located near Oswego Middle School, at 12 Mark Fitzgibbons Drive, Oswego, NY 13126, and there is ample parking.
Concinnity is under the direction of Mary Lou Bjorkman and is accompanied by Nancy Pease and Erny Papay.
In June 2017 Concinnity presented a concert called Visions of Hope, a program which highlighted justice, equality, and social issues, in the wake of a country beginning to be divided into “us” and “them.” Now in 2025, it seems even more important to recall the basic premise upon which our country is built.
This concert will feature such popular songs as “Defying Gravity” from the musical Wicked, and Bob Dylan’s immortal song, “The Times, They Are a Changing,” as well as songs which reference thoughts of Abraham Lincoln and text from a letter Abigail Adams wrote to her husband, John Adams.
According to Director Bjorkman, “This will be a positive, uplifting musical afternoon, culminating with singing Bacharach's song, ‘What the World Needs Now Is Love.’ Please turn off the news, put down your iPad and phone, and come join us. We all deserve a break.”
While there is no admission charge for the concert, a free will donation will be gratefully accepted to help this group of local singers continue to present such concerts.
