The select singers of Concinnity will present a concert of uplifting, inspiring, and empowering music to lighten our path into the future, entitled A Patch of Light, under the direction of Mary Lou Carpenter-Bjorkman and accompanied by Nancy Pease, with Ernest Papay on bass and guitar and Sue Comerford on flute and percussion.

The concert will be on Saturday, June 10, at 4:00 and run about an hour. It will be at Faith United Church. The building is fully accessible and is located near Oswego Middle School, at 12 Mark Fitzgibbons Drive, Oswego, NY 13126, and there is ample parking.

The title song, A Patch of Light, invites you into a warm space from out of the darkness and frustration of our everyday lives. The concert continues with inspiring songs, some familiar, such as “He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother,” which remind us of our relationship with others and our world. A few songs are historically relevant, like a response to a speech given in the early twentieth century to the National Education Association warning of what will happen to society if women are allowed to study mathematics.

The music will be accompanied by a slide presentation prepared by Rocky Farden.

While there is no admission charge for the concert, a free will donation would be gratefully accepted to help this group of local singers continue to present such concerts.
