     Dale "Chip" R. Davis, 53, a resident of Oswego, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse.

     Born in Rochester, he was a son of Dale D. (Jeanne) Davis, of Cicero, and the late Shirley Joyce (Germain) Davis, who died in 2003.
     He received his Bachelor's Degree of Arts at SUNY Oswego.
     Chip was a self-employed contractor.
     He was a musician and very good harmonica player. He enjoyed kayaking, camping, bird watching and appreciated visual art.
     Besides his father, he is survived by one daughter, Sarah Jane (Todd Hay) Davis, of Deland, Fla.; one son, Kyle Borland Davis, of Oswego; three sisters, Deborah (Roger) Sprague and Laurie (Rich) Yule, both of Oswego, and Kimberlee (Ryan) Buskey, of New Haven; step-siblings, Walter (Pam) Robinson, of Mechanicville, ,Cheryl (Stephen) Slate, of Brownville and Deborah Morgan, of Michigan;several nephews and nieces; many close friends who helped care for him; and his German Shepherd, Buster.
     Funeral services and burial will be private.
     Calling hours will be held from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
      In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in Chip's memory.
