Daniel J. O'Neil, lifelong Oswegonian, passed away Tuesday, February 16 at the age of 69.

Dan's devotion, selflessness, and indomitable spirit endure within his wife of 49 years, Linda (Budd) of Oswego, and their three sons, Robert, Jeremy, and Dustin. He was known as Pops to his beloved grandsons, Aidan, Quinlan, Kieran, and Reed.

Dan was born in 1951 to Robert and Margaret (Gang) O'Neil and was raised in Oswego with his siblings, Timothy, Thomas, and JoAnn. He retired as a carpenter from SUNY Oswego and also as a fleet mechanic for Verizon.

Dan most enjoyed spending his scarce spare time with those close to him and making their passions his own. He loved card collecting, local dirt track racing, Oswego Laker hockey, and the New York Yankees. Dan rarely missed his sons' and grandsons' hockey and baseball games, no matter how far he had to travel.

Dan was industrious and immensely capable of building, repairing, and maintaining anything. Besides his family, his East Mohawk Street home and garden were his pride and joy. Dan's family has gathered there privately in memoriam.

Contributions in Dan’s memory can be made to the Food Bank of Central New York, 7066 Interstate Island Road, Syracuse, NY 13209; or at www.foodbankcny.org.

Arrangements are in care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
