Daniel W. Johnson, 61 of Marcellus and a longtime resident of Oswego, passed away Friday at his home.
He was born in Oswego and was the son of Harold E. and Arlene L. Engle Johnson of Oswego.
Mr. Johnson had been employed for many years as a respiratory therapist at the Oswego Hospital.
He was a former member of the Oswego Town Volunteer Fire Department. He was also an avid outdoorsman and lifelong racing fan of Oswego Speedway.
As a young boy, Dan joined the Oswego Minor Hockey Association the year after it was founded and ultimately went on to become a member of the Oswego High School Buccaneer hockey program until his graduation in 1974. He later became active as a coach in the O.M.H.A.
In addition to his parents he is survived by two sons, Mark A. Johnson of Oswego, Adam P. Johnson of Valley Cottage, one daughter, Jenifer Logana, two sisters, Janice Roosa of Sterling and Nancy Miller of Oswego, one brother, Kenneth (Camille) Johnson of Oswego, his fiancé’ Michelle Bernard of Marcellus, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Saturday 1-4PM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home with a service to follow at 4PM. Spring burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
