David Lee Johnson, 54, passed away solemnly at Oswego Hospital, after a protracted battle with cancer. His death was attended by close friends and family.
David was born in Oswego, the son of the late William and Mary (Finn) Johnson. He was a life resident of the area.
He was a member of Laborer's Local 214, and also worked as a boilermaker and painter on various projects. He is remembered as a man's man, who was an accomplished chef, hunter, fisherman, golfer, and a civilian pilot. He found peace while communing with the great-outdoors, and in spending time with his children.
David is survived by his daughter, Magan Johnson of Oswego; his son, Rilye Johnson of Oswego; his sisters Carla Reitz of Syracuse, and Mary Johnson of Oswego; and the mothers of his children, Linda Latour Johnson, and Wendy Tremblay.
He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Monday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Morisette will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held for 4:00 to 7:00pm Sunday, at the funeral home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
