David P. Mahaney, 74 of Oswego died Thursday at his home.
He was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Lawrence and Gertrude Ouderkirk Mahaney.
Mr. Mahaney was the husband of Sharon Cleary Mahaney and were married 53 years.
He had been employed for 34 years and retired from Novelis/Alcan as a furnace operator.
Mr. Mahaney served as a proud member of the US Marine Corp and was a life member of VFW Post 2320.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Pamela (Ron) Cahill of Oswego, two sons, David P. (Rhonda) Mahaney, Jr. of Oswego, Lawrence D. (Shanna) of Katy, TX, one sister Sallie Roberts of Granby, three brothers Lawrence Mahaney of Oswego, Robert (Carol) Mahaney of Syracuse, John (Marie) Mahaney of Las Vegas, NV, nine grandchildren, Joshua (Megan) Flett, Ronald (Stepfanie) Cahill, Jeremy Cahill, Christopher Cahill, Sarah Mahaney, Karsyn Mahaney, Dylan Mahaney, Ashley Mahaney and Liam Mahaney, five great grandchildren.
Mr. Mahaney was predeceased by a daughter, Tracie L. Flett who died March 23, 2019, six sisters, Catherine Pritchard, Barbara Gureney, Rose Mary Johnson, Mary Jane Ruttan, Joan Flack and Marie Gray.
Friends are invited to call at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home Monday from 4-7PM.
Private burial services will be in New Haven Cemetery.
