A Mobile Food Canteen is coming to town next week and if you’re a Veteran, you'll want to get there.
This event will be held at the Oswego Music Hall located inside the McCrobie Civic Center in Oswego on April 25 from 10 am until 3pm. It is free to veterans and families of veterans sponsored by Clear Path.
Clear Path is a non-profit organization, headquartered in Chittenango, that helps veterans with their needs. It helps in times of crisis. Having housing trouble? Clear Path can help. Having issues with the VA? Clear Path will advocate for you. They can help you get the clinical and non-clinical services you need. They know where and how to get the resources you need and are eligible for as a US veteran.
Clear Path serves the state, and the Mobile Canteens are a way to get out in the community that may not be able to get to Chittenango according to Anthony Bell, Peer Mentor for the Northern Tier served by Clear Path, which includes Oswego County. “There are over 8,000 veterans in Oswego County,” Bell informed iHeart Oswego, “and services are there for them. We advocate for vets because we are veterans, ourselves.”
Other services provided are food pantry delivery, furniture needs, housing help, paperwork help, advocacy for insurances and for VA services, and for countless other needs veterans may have.
Bell has office hours in Fulton at the VSA office on Tuesdays and in Oswego at the VA office on Wednesdays.
Want to know more about Clear Path and what they have to offer, or about how you can help with Clear Path and their mission? Interested in keeping in touch with other Veterans in the county and surrounding areas? Come on out to the Mobile Canteen, April 25 at the Oswego Music Hall. As always, the Canteen is free.
