The Special Events Committee, in partnership with the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and CNY Community Arts Center, announces the inaugural “Downtown Markets” event.
This rain or shine event will take place on Saturday, June 8th, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the City of Fulton’s Downtown District (a change from the War Memorial Complex). This exciting new initiative aims to create a vibrant downtown culture, foster community engagement, and support local artisans and businesses.
The “Downtown Markets” will be a collaboration between the Special Events Committee’s “Community Market,” the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce “Farmer’s Market,” and the CNY Community Arts Center “Arts Market.”
"We are excited to launch the first-ever “Downtown Markets” and bring this vision to life," said Caroline Shue, Chair of the Special Events Committee. According to Shue, the groups have been in discussion about combining efforts throughout the past year.
Downtown Fulton will be transformed into a vibrant marketplace with local vendors, artisans, live entertainment, food, fresh produce, and activities. Live entertainment will be located at the Downtown Gazebo along the closed off S 1st Street with Max Scialdone kicking off at 9:30 AM and Lisa Lee closing at 12:00 PM.
"Our collaboration with the Special Events Committee and the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce is instrumental in bringing the community together through art and festivities," mentioned Bill Grace, the Board President of CNY Community Arts Center.
"Combining multiple community events not only boosts excitement but also fosters a more united and inclusive community," added Taylor Davis, Member Engagement & Operations Manager.
The Special Events Committee is a non-profit organization of volunteers working to reestablish a vibrant community where all are welcome to visit, live, and enjoy Fulton. Its mission is to bring the Fulton community together by providing quality events and experiences for all ages.
The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce advances the business and community interests of the region through advocacy, member services, and community enhancements.
