Rehearsals are well under way for Woody Allen's play, "Don't Drink the Water" on the Frances Marion Brown stage.

The farce, directed by Sherri Lynn Metz, appeared on Broadway Nov. 7, 1966, and played for 598 performances at three different Broadway theaters. It was Allen's first professionally produced venture. The original cast included such notables as Lou Jacobi, Kay Medford, Anita Gillette, Tony Roberts and Donna Mills.
Cast member Julia Dighe said she is thrilled to be in her third production with the Oswego Players. She began acting when she was about 5 years old as a member of the Lullaby League in "The Wizard of Oz." More recently, she has appeared in "Once Upon a Mattress," "Mame," and her high school's "After Juliet." Dighe is currently a student who, when not on stage, enjoys reading, music and art.
Juan Francisco La Manna who plays "Krojack" is a relative newcomer to the group. This is his second appearance as an actor in an Oswego Players show. He likes to travel and loves to cook. Professionally, he is a professor of music at SUNY Oswego, where he conducts the orchestra and teaches piano.
Other cast members include, Brian Pringle, Joannie Anderson, Knate Roy, Chris Metz, Sherri Baker, Nelson Metz and Jennifer Snow.
The show is scheduled for production at 8 p.m., Sept. 13, 14, 20 and 21; and at 2 p.m. Sept. 22. Reservations may be made at the box office at 315-343-5138.
The Players are grateful for the support from Pathfinder Bank toward the Oswego Players' 75th season productions. For more information on the Oswego Players, visit www.oswegoplayers.org.
