Write a commentEdna M. Smith, 87, of Oswego, went peacefully to the Lord on May 21, 2014.
She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (McCarthy) Wells. Mrs. Smith attended St. Mary's School and Oswego High School. She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing, Utica, NY. Mrs. Smith worked as an R.N. at the Oswego Hospital, St. Luke's Residential Health, and as a private duty nurse.
Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1990, her son Fred in 2006, an infant twin brother Edward, her sister Catherine Pelkey and her brother Thomas Wells.
Mrs. Smith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her strong faith, kind heart and generous spirit touched, beyond measure, so many lives.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her children Michael and Lorraine Smith, Oswego, Patricia Zagers, Hilton Head, SC, Mary Elizabeth Smith, Oswego, Margaret Kocher, Greenville, SC and Dennis and Karen Smith, Oswego. She is also survived by grandchildren Barbara, Jeffrey, Emily, Andrew, Jackson and Danielle, Sarah, Carlie, Katie and great-grandchildren Meghan, Bradley, Gregory and baby Graclynn.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 from St. Paul's Church.
Burial will be in St.Paul's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7.
