Ranging from landscapes to flowers, boats and city scenes, Eileen Belaska Sprague's art is bright and vibrant.
Sprague creates all the seasonal displays at the library's circulation desk and adds individual flowers or leaves with the names of staff and volunteers.
Her work area at the library features a seasonally decorated fir tree and other fun ornaments and hangings. Sprague has knitted scores of baby hats for the nursery at the Oswego Hospital and has mailed handmade woolen hats for our troops overseas along with supplies they could use through a pen-pal exchange program. These few things mentioned only scratch the surface of this generous lady. She has donated many of her artworks to our Children's Room and are currently on display on our upper level through Nov. 17.
When Sprague's show leaves the gallery, the library will welcome a half dozen different artists for a holiday show. Be sure to stop by to enjoy the great art and possibly purchase a piece from Sprague or our other artists.
The Oswego Public Library is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday,;10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday; and 12-5 p.m.., Saturday and Sunday.
Note: The library will be closed Nov. 11 for Veterans' Day; Nov. 28-29 for Thanksgiving; and Dec. 25 for Christmas. It will be closing early Christmas Eve at 3 p.m.
