"Dial M for Murder," directed by Troy Pepper, will be the kick-off show for the Oswego Players 75th year of continuous operation.
This is a great feat for a small amateur theater in Oswego.
"Dial M" is a 1950's era chiller destined to thrill audiences. Cast as the unsuspecting victim, Elizabeth Ladd is rehearsing her second role with the Players. She was Vicki in last summer's, "Caught in the Net."
Ladd holds an associate's degree in theater from Niagara Community College and is set to continue work toward her bachelor's in fine arts in theater and costume design next fall. She works with the Acme Mystery Company (AMC), in Syracuse, most recently in "Death Takes a Cruise" and "Tomb with a View."
The AMC is an interactive theatre environment, usually in dinner theatre format. It gives actors the challenge of "thinking on their feet" and adjusting to changing circumstances – a great asset in live theatre.
Other cast members include Zane Leo, Kyle Walton, Nathan Wescott and Paul Michael Callahan.
Production dates are 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8, 9, 15 and 16, with a matinee at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17. Tickets are $10/adults, $8/seniors and 7/students. Reservations are recommended and available by calling the Players' box office at 315-343-5138.
