Enid L. Roberts, 105 of Oswego and Kendal, Manchester passed away at the home of her granddaughter, Dr. Allison Duggan, on Monday evening May 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Enid was born in the Country of Jamaica on November 27, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Emily Brown and William Reid.
Enid Louise Roberts, beloved wife of Samuel Leonard Roberts, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family and community.
A devoted wife and mother, Enid raised her children with deep care and played a profound role in the upbringing of her grandchildren, nurturing each generation with grace and warmth. Her home was a sanctuary of love, laughter, and endless support – a reflection of her steadfast commitment to family.
Enid was revered by all who knew her. She was a proud and active member of St. James Anglican Church, where her faith guided her life and inspired those around her. Her generous spirit extended far beyond her household; she volunteered at the Manchester Infirmary, offering comfort and care to the sick and homeless with humility and compassion.
A true homemaker, Enid found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved word puzzles, playing dominos, traveling with her granddaughter, and most of all, caring for her loved ones. Her selfless nature, boundless patience, and inclusive heart touched countless lives.
Kind, tolerant, and nurturing, Enid embodied the very best of humanity. She leaves behind cherished memoires, enduring lessons, and a community made better by her presence.
She was predeceased by her daughters Audrey and Jean. She is survived by her daughters Sonia, Angella, Beverly, Yvonne, Sharon and Coleen and her son David. She leaves behind twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who continue to hold her love in their hearts.
Funeral services will be at St. James Anglican Church, Manchester Parish, Jamaica on June 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at the Family Plot, Hanbury, Manchester.
