The return of fall brings autumnal festivities and Oswego County is your destination for family-friendly events.

From pumpkin and apple fests to fall fun at the Oswego County Fairgrounds, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this September and October.

Welcome the change of season at Ontario Orchards’ 2024 Fall Jamboree on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21 and 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy live music and entertainment and browse an assortment of arts and crafts vendors. This fun-filled event also features a corn maze, wagon rides, u-pick apples and pumpkins, wine tasting, a zip line, G&G Animals, face painting and more. Food and drinks are available for purchase. You won’t want to miss Locktoberfest in the village of Phoenix on Saturday, Sept. 28! The all-day event takes place in the State Street Downtown Business District along the Oswego River. The festival includes live music, 45 local vendors, seven food trucks/vendors, fireworks and more. Find ‘all things apple’ at the 39th annual Central Square Apple Festival. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29, enjoy classic festival favorites such as rides, food, entertainment, raffles, crafters, vendors and more. The festival serves as the largest fundraiser for the Hastings Lions Club and, with a nominal admission charge of $5 per carload, it is an affordably fun fall event for the whole family! The Lions Club will also be collecting non-perishable food items for those in need; drop-off barrels will be placed near the entrance. Curtis Manor also hosts an apple festival on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.! Enjoy all of your favorite county fair traditions with a fall twist at the Family Fall Festival! The Oswego County Fairgrounds, located at 291 Ellisburg St. in Sandy Creek, hosts a variety of attractions, including festival food, rides, live music, local vendors, scarecrow and pumpkin decorating contests, truck pulls and more! Just like the classic Oswego County Fair, admission and parking for this event are free. Come out to the CNY Pumpkin Festival on from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6. The free event offers loads of family fun, including live music, kids’ activities, amusements, games, bounce houses, food and drinks, local vendors and more. Looking for more fall festivities? Head to the Fulton Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 5! From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy a day of fun for the whole family at the Fulton War Memorial Complex at 609 W. Broadway. The event features a variety of local vendors, live music, food trucks, children’s activities, a trackless train, a hot air balloon walk and more! Head back to Central Square on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. enjoy a day full of family fun, sweet treats, games and more! Unique, hand-crafted scarecrows will be on display, and winners will be crowned for “most creative” and “best dressed.” The new event is hosted by Country Glazed, located at 548 S. Main St. in Central Square. While you’re there, be sure to try the delicious donuts and coffee the shop has to offer!
