Long time educator Norma Barnes retired from the district several years ago, but her support of her former school continues. She annually donates books to the school library as part of a grant she received from Walmart.
This year the fourth-grade reading awards were given to Gretchen Dowd, John Alejandro and Devon Campbell. They were joined in the celebration of the recognition by FLS principal Julie Burger and fourth-grade teachers Jessica Bowman, Stephanie Battista, Terri Fear and Norma Barnes.
