One lucky winner of a raffle to take place during this year’s Harborfest will receive the opportunity to explore Dominica, dubbed the “Nature Island” of the Caribbean, and one of the ultimate destinations for eco-tourism.

Billed by the island’s tourism site as a “diver’s dream and a hiker’s paradise”, and the “trailhead to adventure and discovery”, it is a gorgeous, mountainous island nation with natural hot springs, tropical rainforests, waterfalls, the world’s second largest boiling lake, volcanic peaks, and more.

There’s no better way to experience the “beauty unspoilt” and “culture preserved” of this pure gem than the 3 Rivers Eco Lodge. 3 Rivers & Rosalie Forest Eco Lodge is a small, award winning eco lodge in a lush rainforest valley, surrounded by rivers and jungle, in natural and unspoiled eastern Dominica, offering a range of eco-friendly accommodations including charming cottages and tree houses, plus an on site restaurant &bar and game room. The lodge also coordinates a range of community, nature and adventure activities for all. It’s a perfect getaway for the environmentally-conscious, active traveler. More information can be found on their website (www.3riversdominica.com ).

While the vacation doesn’t include airfare, it does include transportation to and from the airport in Roseau, five-night accommodation for two people, a welcome and departure meal, onsite restaurant, and a 15-minute walk to the ocean! Valued at over $1,000, the vacation will be raffled off during the festival in Breitbeck Park as a fundraiser. The expiration date on the trip is June 1st, 2018.

Ben Turner, formerly of Murdock’s Bicycles and Sports, has donated the trip in support of Harborfest’s 30th birthday. The tickets will be raffled off during the festival in Breitbeck park, and tickets will be $5 apiece. Harborfest 2017 will take place July 27-30.

Harborfest is one of the few admission-free music festivals in the country. It was founded with the mission of creating nationally recognized festivals and events that attract and engage a broad and diverse audience, celebrate and build community, and advance economic development in Oswego, New York. It would not be possible to continue the event without the massive continued support received from the City of Oswego, businesses, organizations, government entities, and individuals and family members.

To learn more about the helicopter rides, about Harborfest itself, or to contribute to the support of this amazing region-wide event, contact the Harborfest offices at 41 Lake Street, Oswego, NY 13126 or by phone at (315)-342-7113.
