On October 28th, Gail Tosh, Democratic candidate for New York’s 120th Assembly District, will be holding a virtual fundraiser to benefit her campaign and stand against hate in the district.
The event will be co-sponsored by EQNY, an LGBTQ+ justice organization. The fundraiser will follow an anti-hate rally Tosh is holding on the 25th, in response to several displays of hate and voter intimidation in the district.
“It’s easy for the rest of the country to get the idea that hate and extremist views like we’ve seen here are happening in other parts of the country—in the south or in other places that make national news—definitely not in New York. But the reality is, we’re facing the same dangerous ideas and behaviors up here, and people deserve to know about it. We cannot stand by and let hateful ideas win. It’s our responsibility to stand up and say ‘We won’t stand for this in our community. These ideas do not represent us."
Tosh will speak at the event, along with several community members and special guests to be announced closer to the date. The fundraiser will begin at 7PM and will take place over Zoom in a webinar format. Guests will be able to submit questions for all speakers in a Q&A session.
This event is the last fundraiser Gail Tosh’s campaign will hold before the election. For a full schedule of programming, follow the campaign on Facebook at Gail Tosh for State Assembly, or visit www.ElectGailTosh.com.
Tosh is running to represent the 120th against Minority Leader Will Barclay, who has been representing the region since 2002. To contact Tosh and her campaign, email her at GailToshForAssembly@gmail.com, or visit her website at www.ElectGailTosh.com.
