Write a commentGary Wulfert, 80, of Oswego, died October 20th 2024 after a long fight with dementia.
He was born on November 5, 1943, in Dyersburg Tennessee to the late Charles & Dorothy Wulfert. He also is predeceased by his son Matthew, 2022.
Gary proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Hugh Purvis and USS Norton Sound for 6 years.
Gary was a very talented electrician for local IBEW 328/43 for 33 years. He and his father spent many hours building his first family home in Granby in 1970’s. He was an avid biker, handy craftsman and practical joker. His pride and joy were his 3 grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jean Fowler Wulfert. His daughter Jennifer (Sherman) Shatrau of Clay, his daughter-in-law Danna Culp Wulfert of Lancaster South Carolina and his grandchildren Zoe Shatrau, Ellis Wulfert and Samuel Wulfert. Also, His brother Bill(Regina) Wulfert of Ohio.
Gary also leaves behind an amazing care Team: Kim, Penny, Bonnie, Nicole, Danielle, Barb and Carol. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 4 pm-7 pm, at Nelson Funeral Home, Oswego. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Friday, at Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
