George F. Catalone, 86, of Oswego, died August 17, 2018.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Casi and Josephine (Lamanzo) Catalone.
George served in the Army from 1956 to 1958 and the National Guard from 1949 to 1953.
He was a construction worker having worked at Nine Mile I and II.
He was a member of the American Legion #268, the V.F.W. and former member of the Moose Club. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed hunting and playing cards.
Surviving are four daughters, Alice LaMont of Fulton; Georgia (Greg) Liberti of Fulton; Cathy (Bill) Linder of Florida; and Vickie (Elwood) Shafer of North Carolina; a son, Angelo Vescio III, of Fulton; two sisters Josephine Jadus and Beatrice Denny both of Oswego; fifteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Cole) Catalone; a son-in-law Jeff LaMont; three brothers Joe Catalone, Andrew Catalone and Anthony Catalone.
There will be a calling hours from 9-10:30AM Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Thursday at St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
