
George W. Lundy, 87, a resident of Oswego, passed away September 28, 2015.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late George and Catherine (McMahon) Lundy. He was a US Navy WWII Veteran serving in the South Pacific and Puerto Rico. George retired as a Sgt. of the Oswego Police Department after 41 years. He was a member of the Lake City Police Club and a life member of the Elks 271. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed jogging and playing poker. He was a member of the Lake City Police softball team.
Surviving is a daughter, Donna (Thomas) Keating of Minetto; son, George F. Lundy of Oswego; one brother Richard W. Lundy of MA; one sister, Betty Lou Allen of Oswego; four grandchildren, Kimberly Keating of Minetto, Shaun (Elizabeth) Keating of Bayville, NY, George Lundy of Oswego and Danielle (David) Lundy-Losurdo of Scriba; four great-grandchildren, Noah, Audrey, Madeline, and Alyson.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Horr) in 2010; and by his siblings, William, Allan, and Helen Lundy.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
