Write a commentHannibal Central School District is hosting a summer institute for incoming freshmen that allows students to work on skills and will minimize the learning gap between the eighth and ninth grade.
The institute is designed to be hands-on and engaging, while covering all of the core subjects. A part of the program involves students exploring what life was like during different periods of history in Hannibal and neighboring areas.
Guest speakers from local historical societies will be visiting the school, and the students will have the opportunity to interview an elder one-on-one.
Members of the community are invited to attend the culmination of the summer institute, which includes a living history museum. The event will take place on August seventh from 9:30 to 11 a.m in the district board room, 928 Cayuga St, Hannibal, NY 13074.
