On Wednesday of this week I had the profoundly inspiring opportunity to harvest some hops from Empire Farm Brewery, a hop farm and brewery in Cazenovia, NY.
St. Luke Health Services in Oswego will host a workshop featuring the St. Luke Family of Caring Palliative Care Team, led by Dr. Renante Ignacio, MD., as they discuss advance care planning and advanced directives. The workshop will take place on Wednesday, November 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the Large Conference Room at St. Luke. The workshop is free of charge and the public is invited to attend.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, is now accepting registrations for "6 Steps to Better Balance," a six-step approach to Better Balance developed by Betty Perkins-Carpenter, Ph.D., of Senior Fitness Productions. The classes will take place on six consecutive Tuesdays in April and May.

The Oswego County Health Department announced today that new regulations affecting air conditioner cooling towers and recirculated water systems have been adopted by the NYS Department of Health. The new regulations are intended to protect the public’s health by preventing community outbreaks of Legionnaires’ disease similar to the outbreak which recently occurred in New York City.
The public is invited to come investigate insects at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center on Sunday, September 27th, 2:00 pm.
