Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late George and Grace (Rogers) Crimmins.
Helen was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving is her son, Mark (Carol) Oswald of Oswego; and one grandson, Michael Oswald of Chicago, IL; three sister-in-laws; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John M. Oswald in 2012; and by her brother, George Crimmins Jr.
Calling hours will be held 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, with services to follow, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street, Oswego.
Burial will be held 11a.m. Friday in St. Peter's Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke's for the care they gave to Helen.
