The Hotcakes for Hospice breakfast buffet featuring the SUNY Oswego Laker Hockey Team with Coach Ed Gosek served more than 150 diners on Sunday, Oct. 8, it was announced by Elena Twiss, Friends of Hospice in Oswego County (FOHOC) executive director.
The event, held at the Oswego Elks lodge, 132 W. Fifth St., featured a breakfast buffet, plus chances to win drawing prizes of lottery tickets and prizes. "We were thrilled with the turnout," Twiss said. "All proceeds will benefit our programs and the patients we serve.
"We also want people to know that hospice services are still available in Oswego County, despite the closure of county hospice services. Hospice of CNY and the Finger Lakes, as well as Hospice of Jefferson County continue to serve our residents."
Twiss said that the Oswego County Comets motorcycle club and the Fire and Iron motorcycle club each contributed $500 to FOHOC for a total of $1,000 at the event.
