This year, the Maple Association's dish being prepared will be Pork Loin Chops with Maple Syrup & Apple Pie Butter. “I specifically designed this recipe to utilize the natural flavors of both maple syrup and apples.” Gailinas said. “Pork picks up on these flavors very well and is a great choice for this recipe. Both maple syrup and maple sugar are great to cook with, as the maple flavor is subtle.”
Gailinas created iHeart Oswego in 2012 to promote all positive information about businesses and events in Oswego County. She is a maple enthusiast and created the annual Maple Cook-Off (happening during NY State's Maple Weekend) for the Red School House Maple Farm in Fulton, NY.
There are two opportunities to catch the maple cooking demonstration at the New York State Fair, August 24th and again on September 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. both days.
