Obituaries

James M. Eckert, Sr., 81, a resident of East 10th Street in Oswego, passed away Saturday, at Seneca Hill Manor.

Mr. Eckert was born in Wilkes Barre, PA, and came to Oswego when he was 18 years old. He was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Zuyata) Eckert. Prior to his retirement, he was employed, for many years, with the Painters Local #38. He had previously worked for the Flexo-Wire Corp. in Oswego, and for the Marathon Paper Co. He was a member of the Oswego Lodge of Elks, and a communicant of St. Paul’s Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joan (Patterson) Eckert of Oswego; a daughter, Linda (Robert) Guilds of Oswego; a son James M. Eckert, Jr. of Oswego; a brother, Charles Eckert of Oswego; and two grandchildren, Brad Guilds and Tyler Eckert.

He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Eckert.

Funeral services will be private.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.
