Write a commentJoanne McMahon, 88, of Oswego, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, with her loving husband by her side.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of John and Mildred (Haynes) O’Neil.
Joanne graduated from Oswego High School and married Frederick McMahon, the love of her life. Together, they cherished 65 wonderful years of marriage.
She worked for many years as a clerk at Sears and loved working on crossword puzzles, gardening, and reading. Joanne looked forward to her lunch outings with her close friends, and she also loved to travel.
Joanne is survived by her adoring husband Frederick McMahon, and several special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her siblings John “Jack” O’Neil, Sally Sanford, and Mildred Shaw.
A graveside service in St. Peter Cemetery is being planned for the Spring, on a date to be announced. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
