Write a commentJock Thomas Thorpe, 60, a resident of Volney, died January 17, 2016 at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Thomas R. and Marlene (Casler) Thorpe. After finishing school in Long Island he worked for the Local I.B.E.W #328 in Oswego. He also helped establish Thorpe’s Vineyard in Wolcott and drove tractor-trailer for Warner’s. Jock enjoyed family and friends as well as flying, scuba diving, sail boating and gem stone cutting.
He is survived by his siblings, Robert L. (Anita) Thorpe, of Oswego; Lisa (Joey) DelFierro of Volney; Pamela Thorpe Pratt, of Camillus; three nieces and nephews, Sarah Thorpe, Robert T. Thorpe, Tyler Pratt.
Calling hours will be held 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
Services will be private.
