Syrell 465x516     Julia E. Syrell, 91, a resident of City Line Road in the City of Oswego, passed away Tuesday, at the Oswego Hospital.

     Mrs. Syrell was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Lucian J. and Julia (Pittsley) Sawyer. She was a life resident.

     She was the wife of the late John W. Syrell, Sr., who died in 2003.

     Mrs. Syrell was a communicant of St. Paul's Church, and a former communicant of St. Louis' Church.

     She is survived by a daughter, Mary (Raymond) Brown of Oswego; two sons, John W. Syrell, Jr. of Oswego, and Robert (Jean) Syrell of Oswego; three sisters, Agnes Davis of Florida, Shirley Bogart of Mexico, NY, and Barbara (William) Price of Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Michael Brown, Diane Schrader, Annette "Cricket" Herron, Jennifer Flynn, John W. Syrell, III, Renee Patterson, Danielle Johansen, and Justine Polczak; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

     She was also predeceased by a brother, Lucian Sawyer; and two sisters, Mary Engle and Evelyn Fellows.

     Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, in St. Paul's Church.

     Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

     Calling hours will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 Friday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
