Oswego hurdler Cory Keefe is bound for the New York State Track and Field Championships while the boys' hockey, girls' basketball and boys' basketball teams prep for Section III Tournament action. Both the boys' teams are home on Friday night, Feb. 15.

The hockey team is home at Crisafulli Rink at 8:15 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, to face off against Cazenovia in a pre-semifinal game while the varsity boys' basketball squad hosts CBA in a first round game at Powers Gymnasium at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, the girls' basketball team travels to Utica Proctor on Friday evening.
Oswego senior Cory Keefe, kept his unbeaten hurdle streak intact Wednesday, by winning the 55 meter hurdles, at the Section 3 State Meet Qualifier held at Onondaga Community College.
Despite nursing a sore hamstring, Keefe finished first in the 55-meter hurdle preliminaries, with a time of 7.82 and placed first in the hurdle finals, with a strong time of 7.81.
Keefe is currently ranked second in the state in the 55-meter hurdles and is ranked first among the section's elite in both the 55-meter hurdles and 55 meter dash. His fine performance earns him a return
trip to the New York State Track and Field Championships, to be held Saturday March 2, at Cornell University.
Last winter, Keefe won the New York State Championships in the 55-meter hurdles indoors and finished fourth in the 110 meter high hurdles at the outdoor state championships. He also qualified for theUSATF National Junior Track and Field Championships in the hurdles, which features the top athletes in the country ages 19 and younger.
"Cory is having another outstanding season and is slightly ahead of last year at this time," Oswego coach Jim McCaul said. " He is developing the drive, determination, and focus, to compete against the best. Cory should be at full strength in the upcoming state meet and be capable of challenging the state's elite."
