Lakeside Artisans will be hosting a class on making attractive, useful, gorgeous zippered pouches. The demonstration, by Kathy Fenlon, begins on Thursday, Jan. 29 from 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at 191 W. First St.

Fenlon will demonstrate how to make 3 different styles of a zippered pouch and 3 different easy ways to put in a zipper. Once students learn the zipper installation techniques, they can use these skills with many different projects.

Students will select fabric from a variety of fabric samples and make their own unique pouches. Each pouch will have a different (practically fool proof) way to install a zipper. Students may make their pouches any size they wish. They will also learn different ways to embellish the pouches. These are very practical and can be used for a variety of things such as jewelry, make-up, a mini-wallet, photos, camera, cell phone, etc.

Students may bring their own portable sewing machine if they have one. A machine will be provided for students who do not have one to bring.

To register for the class, or for more information, please contact us at 342-8880 or lakesideartisans@gmail.com.

The class fee of $45 includes all supplies to make the 3 zippered pouches. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $10 with the balance of $35 due the evening of the class. Registration for the class may be done in person at Lakeside Artisans or mailed to Lakeside Artisans at 191 W. First St., Oswego, NY 13126. Be sure to include your name, phone number and email address. In order to ensure that students get lots of individual attention, there is a limit of 4 students per class.
