Adjacent to New York's Jefferson, Oswego, Cayuga and Wayne counties δΈ€ Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary is America's newest and 16th national marine sanctuary.
The designation ceremony will take place from 11 a.m. to noon at William S. Cahill Pier in Oswego, New York. It will be followed by a community celebration at the same location, from 12 to 3 p.m. This will be an opportunity for the public to learn about the sanctuary and its place within the National Marine Sanctuary System.
