November’s Artist of the Month at the Lakeside Artisans is Sharon Terry. Visitors to the shop at 191 W. 1st St, in downtown Oswego, can enter a drawing for a pair of her original, hand-crafted earrings. The drawing will be held November 30. The winner need not be present at the drawing.
Sharon has been creating necklaces, earrings, and bracelets for 13 years. Her journey began with a jewelry magazine and the discovery of a box of her grandmother’s beads in the back of a closet. She found a nearby bead store, took a class and was on her way. Sharon’s inspiration comes from poring over bead catalogs, admiring jewelry worn by friends, and her vivid imagination. Her husband, close friends, and customers are her greatest sources of encouragement.
Sharon particularly enjoys working with semi-precious beads, adding metal, crystal and a variety of other beads to create the sparkle she’s looking for. She has been known to travel to Philadelphia, Rochester, Albany, and as far away as Oberlin, Ohio in her search for unique and interesting beads. Lakeside Artisans is carrying a wide variety of work created by Sharon. Over 100 pairs of earrings, many unique necklaces, and a great selection of bracelets are on display now. Sharon’s beautiful creations are appropriate for everyday wear or for dressier occasions.
Lakeside Artisans offers hundreds of one-of-a-kind, original fine art paintings, prints, glass work, Cranky Cat collectibles, woodwork, ceramics, jewelry, fabric art and much more. The Lakeside Artisans store is open Monday - Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday from noon to 4PM.
