The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center will be presenting a public program on beavers, Leave it to Beavers, on Friday, October 6th at 6 p.m. (rain date October 7th).

As daylight grows shorter and the air temperatures cool, a change of behavior is noted with the Center’s beaver colony. A slide presentation and introduction of beaver natural history, as well as the ongoing recovery of the beaver pond will be offered. Following the indoor presentation, enjoy a short wander to the pond in hopes of observing the resident beavers reinforcing their lodge and dams or stocking their larder for the coming winter. We will also keep a watchful eye for osprey, herons, migrating waterfowl, and other interesting pond life. Dress for a cool weather walk. A limited number of binoculars are available for use.

There is a $4.00 fee per person with a family rate of $12.00. Children under the age of 3 are free. The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center is located at 748 State Route 183 in Amboy, between Routes 69 and 13 near Williamstown in eastern Oswego County.
