     Leland Francis Pelkey, 70, a resident of 998 East Seneca Street in Oswego, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, peacefully at home with his loved ones.      Lee was born in Oswego, a son of the late Leland and Helen "Ruth" Engle. He attended local schools, and was a life resident of the area.
He spent his 35-year working career at Alcan Aluminum as a mobile equipment mechanic.
     Lee was an avid hunter, fisherman, diver, and guitarist. He enjoyed country line dancing.
     He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Phoenix and the Oswego Moose Lodge.
      Lee is survived by his companion of 15 years, Helen McGlown; a daughter, Tammy LaMay, of Scriba; two sons, Dennis Quonce, of Oswego, and Daniel Quonce, of Scriba; three sisters, Alice "Sue" Allen, of Fulton, Ruth "Dolly" Serow, of Oswego, and Dora "Butch" Serow, of Mexico; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
      He was predeceased by his father, Leland Pelkey, in 1985; his mother, Helen "Ruth" Engle in 2012; his wife, Sondra Pelkey (Wheeler); and his brother, Leslie Pelkey.
     Funeral services will be private.
     Burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.
     There will be no calling hours.
     Arrangements are in care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St.. Oswego.
