
On May 11, 2015 , Leonard F. Costello Sr., 79, a resident of Oswego passed away on May 11 at University Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Thomas C. and Rose (Butler) Costello and was a graduate of the Oswego High School. He was employed with the Marathon Corporation and later retired from Alcan after over 25 years of service. He was the second ward County Legislator for 9 years and was a Special Deputy with the Oswego County Sheriff's . He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Oswego Elk's #271. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Leonard was a die hard Yankee fan.
Surviving are his daughter, Linda Costello of Oswego, his son, Leonard "Brud" (Janice) Costello of Oswego, a grandson, Gregory (Dawn) Costello of Oswego, one sister, Dorothy "Pug" Laurent of the Town of Oswego and a brother, Ken (Roseanne) Costello of Oswego.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Beatrice, two brothers, Charles Thomas Costello and George F. Costello and a sister, Dolores Oldenburg.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
